Only God Knows

Only God knows the interior corridors
and deepest secrets of my soul.
And only God knows the best path for me
and the way that I should go.

Only God knows the desires and motives-
inside the chambers of my heart.
And only God knows which to manifest-
and which will have to depart.

Only God knows the number of tears-
my weary eyes have cried.
And only God knows how to offer hope-
after all those tears have dried.

Only God knows all that I’ve taken-
and all I’ve given, and lost.
And only God knows how to pay the debt-
for all the ways it cost.

Only God knows all the blessings-
I wasn’t thankful to Him for.
And only God knows the way that’s best-
to bless me even more.

Only God knows the plans He has-
for me and only me.
And only God knows how to go about-
bringing them into be.

Only God knows the way to love me-
in a way that will not cease.
And only God knows the way for me-
to have joy, wisdom, and peace.

Only God knows my true beginning-
and my earthly end.
And only God knows how through it all-
to be my only friend.
